Aeron (Ken) McBryde is recognized as one of North America's foremost portrait artists and a gifted fine art teacher – people came from all over the Greater Vancouver area and Washington State to attend his art lessons.  Aeron considered himself lucky to have been taught in the ‘old school’ of art.  He was a committed and compassionate teacher passing his training onto his students while stressing the basic fundamentals – colour, theory, composition and structure.
Over time, he formulated his own elements and principles of design which he continued to use throughout his teaching.

Aeron's own works – mostly oils but also pastel and watercolour were usually created from one of his own photographs, something he’d seen or a mental image.  His work is highly collectible and held in private and public galleries worldwide.

Despite his artistic achievements, Aeron was a private and modest man. He touched so many lives – no one will ever look at the world the same - whether it be the green of the trees, purple of the clouds or the golden light at sunset.  Many students will continue their art in his honour as he gave them the tools, the insight and knowledge to succeed and grow.
